Nuke Shot

Another part of my line was "the world pretty much ended" so i had wanted to include this. Nothing says end of the world more than a nuke over a city. The city scape was added in green-screen and the back ground was matte painted. I then tracked the footage in after effects and added a green screened Nuke. I added a color correction over time to add a glow of the explosion in the sceneAdded color correction and slight movement in the scene. I then did a time remap to slow it down a bit.

Tornado Shot

My short line in the trailer had a part where I said, "cities where destroyed" so I had wanted to make a city being destroyed in some way. I always loved in movies where they destroyed a famous landmark to add more of a shock to this beloved structure. I choose the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to destroy.

I had used an image of a cloudy San Francisco and added the tornado elements and storm clouds with slight bits of debris to add more reality to the scene.

Party Shots

I had wanted to include a mad party section in the trailer i had taking alot of inspiration from project x and old school type movies, real americana type feeling. I used the soundtrack from Project X. Luckily i had been to a few parties and night clubs over the christmas break and had taking my camera to take shots for the trailer.

I had wanted to get as many crowd shots as possible and stylises them such as slowing them down and of course some colour grading. Having shots of people having a good time was the key thing to get.

Car Crash Shot

The car crash shot was green screened on a road image. Wiggle and color correction was added to blend the shot together.

Helicopter Shot

i think the opening few shots of any trailer/movie should make an impact so i had wanted to make a few shots from helicopters and jets. For this very first shot in the trailer i downloaded some free drone footage and included smoke and a side angle green screen helicopter and colour graded all to fit into one another.

Wall Shot

I had wanted to build a wall or barrier in one of shots to give a world dived in a pandemic feeling. I had modelled the wall in 3ds max and added texture, I then brought it into Photoshop and added more elements.

Techniques

In producing my teaser trailer I wish to utilise a few different types of composting.

As the movie is based around the end of the world, i need it to have a worldly feel so using images from different parts of the word to crete this feel is necessary. Matte Painting and Camera Mapping will help me create this feeling. Photoshop, After Effects and 3DS Max will all be used to achieve this.

I also wish to add some short live action shots with elements added in with green screen footage of smoke and explosions acquired from You Tube user BestGreenScreen. After Effects will be used to composite these elements together.

My titles will be produced by designing the layout in Photoshop with subtle movement added in After Effects.

My choice of editor is Premiere Pro as I find its bridge between all other Adobe software really useful in streamlining my workflow.

Inspiration

I found a few videos online which is similar to what I will be going for in my final project. The genre and feel will be different but the way in which these trailers tell the story, pacing etc is exactly what I am after. See Below.

After Party Synopsis

Have you ever wondered what would actually happen if the world actually ended? In After Party we see Sean a easy going party animal who thinks the end of the world isn't actually that bad.
